R&D Program Manager
We are looking for an R&D Program Manager to join our team!
Mentice is the world leader in virtual reality-based interventional medical simulation solutions. Our solutions help healthcare professionals with skills acquisition, continuous development, and pre-procedural planning—leading to improved productivity and outcomes. Mentice solutions have been specifically developed for healthcare providers and the medical industry. Neurovascular, cardiovascular, and peripheral interventions are just some of the areas covered by our systems.
What you’ll do:
In this role as a R&D Program Manager, you make sure that we identify, plan and develop the technology components we need to deliver the desired software products to our customers. You help define, maintain and follow our technology roadmap, and the strategic initiatives connected to it. You are driving some of these internal development projects from concept to production-level product component. You act as a link synchronizing the different the R&D subteams on new technologies, but also a main link between R&D and the Product team, coordinating product and technology development.
To be successful in this role you have a solid interest in the area of applied research and software development and you are willing to dig into challenging problem solving.
The role is located at our Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, but our overall working environment is international, with several locations worldwide.
Tasks will include:
- Act as an internal link between various R&D subgroups (both in Sweden and the US), but also towards the Product Team, with strategic technology direction and development expertise, synchronizing and streamlining ongoing development.
- Management of internal software platform projects, taking concept technology to production level.
- As a member of the Innovation and Technology Strategy Team, involved in the update and maintenance of the technology roadmap, given input from our Business Plan and Product Roadmap.
- Guiding the R&D team through the necessary changes in way of working. Identify organizational, process, and competence changes needed to execute the tech roadmap.
- Regularly involved in externally funded research projects, both in a project manager role, but also part of creating proposals for future projects, (for example from Vinnova or Eurostars).
- Support M&A and patent management activities.
Who you are:
- You have excellent communication, listening and writing skills. You are proficient in English, both verbally and in writing, and is comfortable working in an international environment. You do not hesitate to continuously give constructive feedback to improve daily work.
- You have much experience from Project Management of development teams.
- You have excellent problem solving skills for related applications and processes.
- You are self-motivated and want to work as a part of a cross functional team.
- You have about 10 years of experience from technology development.
- You have a masters-degree in engineering, computer science, IT, physics or similar.
Experiences and skills and we would be excited if you also have:
- Experience of working in or leading international cross functional agile teams.
- Medical knowledge is a bonus.
